11 nomination papers rejected on 7 assembly seats of Rajasthan, highest in Dausa

Jaipur : Preparations for the assembly by-elections in Rajasthan have been completed. By-elections are to be held on seven assembly seats in the state. In such a situation, after the end of the date of filing nomination, the work of scrutiny has also been completed. Out of the nomination papers filed for the by-elections for seven assembly seats, 11 papers have been canceled by the Commission on Monday (28 October). The Commission has given information in this regard. It is being told that maximum 4 nominations have been rejected on Dausa assembly seat.

The official said that the nomination papers of candidates in seven assembly constituencies for the by-elections in Rajasthan were scrutinized on Monday. Till October 25, a total of 118 nomination papers were submitted by 94 candidates. A total of 11 nomination papers were canceled during the investigation. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 30 October.

11 nominations rejected on 5 assembly seats

Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said that during the investigation, maximum four nomination papers have been canceled in Dausa assembly constituency. Two nominations each in Khinvsar and Devli-Uniara and one nomination each in Jhunjhunu, Chaurasi and Salumber have been rejected. No nomination paper has been canceled in Ramgarh assembly constituency. It is being told that two candidates from BJP had filed nomination for Salumber Assembly seat. In which one name has been rejected. However, this name is of Avinash Meena who is the son of Amritlal Meena of BJP. Salumber seat became vacant only after the death of Amritlal Meena. His wife Shanta Devi will contest this seat on behalf of BJP, her nomination is valid.

Now 84 candidates for 7 assembly seats

According to Mahajan, there were 94 candidates after filing nominations in seven assembly constituencies. But now after scrutiny the number of candidates has come down to 84. Nominations can be withdrawn till 3 pm on Wednesday. Now it remains to be seen how many candidates remain in the fray.
