Sambhal, 10 December (IANS). On Monday, police raided the houses near Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rehman Burke regarding the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Police searched 13 houses. Suspicious items including pistols were recovered from three houses. The police have sealed all the stuff.
Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishna Bishnoi said that on the information of the informer, a search operation was conducted in 13 houses by forming a force of two police stations and a team of RF, RRF and PAC, in which suspicious things were found in three houses. 93 packets of smack have been found from Mulla Asif’s house. At the same time, a 315 bore pistol was found in the house of a youth named Taswar and Naivar. All the people present in these three houses have been brought to the police station for questioning. Further action is being taken.
He said that apart from this, during checking, challans were issued for three dozen bikes and four bikes were seized. So far 39 miscreants have been arrested in Sambhal. The search for those involved in violence is ongoing. Whose faces have been revealed and names are yet to be known. All of them will be arrested.
Let us tell you that the first survey of Jama Masjid of Sambhal was conducted on November 19 on the orders of the court. The Hindu side had claimed that Jama Masjid was the Sri Harihar temple during the time of Mughal ruler Babar. Babar demolished it and converted it into a mosque. The survey team again reached the mosque at around 7.30 am on 24 November. Police were deployed at Jama Masjid since 6 in the morning.
Seeing the heavy force in the area, a stir started in the Muslim community. Rumors started spreading throughout the city that something was going to happen at the mosque today. Messages started going viral in WhatsApp groups. Gradually people living in other parts of the city also started gathering around Jama Masjid.
When the crowd increased, a clash started between the police and the crowd. The uproar escalated so much that stones were pelted and firing was done at the police. Four people lost their lives during this uproar. Now the police is searching for the accused on the basis of video and photos of this disturbance.
