Jaipur : Rajasthan has vast potential for industrial investment. Governments may have been organizing summits and conferences to invite investors for big projects, but the reality is that investors generally remained upset when they did not get the expected facilities. The maximum strike rate of the MOUs and LOIs made by the previous governments was only 15 percent. The rest either got entangled in the paperwork or proved to be useless. Experts believe that many of these industrialists and investors stepped back because there was no solid system of single window. Due to lack of work on fast track, investment could not come.
The same troubling situation is still occurring. In the name of single window system, 14 departments have been given the responsibility of coordination, so that the processes and obstacles related to investors’ projects can be resolved at one place. For this, it was decided to hold meetings of these departments every week under the direction of Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP) Commissioner, but after the change of government, only isolated meetings were held. If this pattern of work continues, it is feared that the Investment Summit may cease to be a meeting of industrialists and investors.
These are the departments
Industry, RIICO, Labor Department, Urban Development, Autonomous Government, Water Supply, Energy, Factory Boiler, Consumer Affairs Department, Medical and Health, Public Works Department, Tourism, Revenue Department, Pollution Control Board.
If this also works then it will be fine
-Availability of cheap and regular electricity to industries
-Need for a permanent plan and policy for water allocation.
-Cheap land in industrial areas
-Strong connectivity and transport system.
-Strength of law and order
MoU for investment in these areas

This is important for investor confidence…
Work should be done on fast track desk – For the MOUs that have been signed, fast-track desk should be set up and its accountability should be fixed. The District Collector himself should monitor once a week. The team remained in touch with those entrepreneurs-institutions who have signed MOUs. If projects involving investment of more than Rs 100 crore are reviewed at the Chief Minister level, there will be more activity among the officers also.
