Kolkata, December 12 (IANS). West Bengal BJP representatives met the state Chief Electoral Officer over the issue of duplicate names in the voter list. In the delegation, Shishir Bajoria and Pratap Banerjee met the Chief Electoral Officer and handed over a letter to him giving all the information on the subject.
Shishir Bajoria told IANS, “Today our most important issue was to remove names of people from the voter list of Bengal. We took a good look at him. Did a complete investigation, and also checked the list thoroughly in the computer. In Bengal, 16 lakh 81 thousand duplicate voters have emerged, whose three fields match and 32 thousand duplicate voters have emerged whose EPIC number is the same.
He said, “This matters a lot because today the difference between Trinamool Congress and us (BJP) is of 1.25 lakh votes. One more thing was seen in this. The two big districts, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas, have 7 lakh 20 thousand duplicate voters and Trinamool Congress wins around 80 seats from these two districts.
The BJP leader said, “The opposition party and we are at ground zero there. They win not only by public votes but by stolen votes. Our demand is that you will have to make amendments in this and a very simple solution for this is that you should give hearing to everyone on the same day, call everyone in the whole of Bengal on the same day and at the same time, so actually two people with the same name There are voters and they will stand at two places.
The CEO has said on our demand that he will look into it as soon as possible and will find a solution as soon as possible.
Talking on “One Nation, One Election”, the BJP leader said, “‘One Nation, One Election’ is a very positive step of the Prime Minister, which has been approved by the Union Cabinet today. This will not only make a huge difference to the electoral system of our entire country, but to our economy. Earlier this country used to vote together. This is how I cast the first vote of my life. There used to be a pink paper and a white paper.
