According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is formed over South Western Rajasthan. Due to this, an orange alert has been issued for heavy and torrential rain with strong thunderstorms in Kota, Tonk, Jhalawar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Pratapgarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Sirohi etc. districts today. On the other hand, a yellow alert has been issued for rain with strong thunderstorms in Jaipur city, Baran, Dausa, Sikar, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Nagaur, Churu, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Barmer, Jalore etc. districts.

Rain wreaks havoc in Baran
Baran’s Shahabad town received heavy rain late at night. The storm uprooted trees. The wall of a concrete house collapsed after a tree fell on it. A family living nearby escaped narrowly.
