Lucknow, November 20 (IANS). The average voting till 11 am for the by-elections on nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh was 20.51 percent. The State Election Office gave this information.
According to the figures released by the State Election Commission, 26.18 percent voting took place in Mirapur, Kundarki 28.54, Ghaziabad 12.87, Khair 19.18, Karhal 20.71, Sisamau 15.91, Phulpur 17.68, Katehari 24.28, Majhwan 20.41 percent.
On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh BJP has written a letter to the Election Commission. It has been said in the letter that people coming from outside the assembly constituencies have been accommodated in the mosques and madrassas located in Sisamau assembly constituency of Kanpur, and voting is being done by making fake identity cards of these people. The Election Commission should take immediate cognizance of this and take strict action against such people and stop fake voting.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media platform The information about this election malpractice has spread everywhere. The Election Commission has also become alert and now assurance is being received from its side that those who have been stopped from voting, should go once again and cast their vote.
He further wrote, “Now no irregularities will be allowed to happen. If anyone stops you again, then inform the Election Commission officials or people from political parties present there or complain directly to the Election Commission. For this assurance received from the Election Commission. Thank you. Dishonest officers of the administration will not be spared. Their video evidence will become the basis for legal action against them. Go without fear and cast your vote!
Muzaffarnagar Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Singh said, “During the Meerapur assembly by-election, a small clash took place between two parties near village Kakrauli under police station Kakrauli area. The police immediately reached the spot and removed everyone from there using force. Peace is maintained at the spot and voting is going on in a free and fair manner.
It may be noted that voting is going on for nine assembly seats in the UP by-elections. There are a total of 34,35,974 voters on these seats. 90 candidates including 11 women are in the fray. The highest number of voters are in Ghaziabad and the least in Sisamau assembly constituency.
