Karauli : Under the Chief Minister’s budget announcement, 1000 new Anganwadi centers will be opened across the state including Karauli district. In this regard, the Government Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department has issued administrative approval orders with the approval of the Finance Department. 20 new Anganwadi centers will be opened in four assembly constituencies of Karauli district. The operation of these centers will be started by December 14. Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department, Satyanarayan Navariya said that proposals were sent to open new Anganwadi centres. In which SC, ST, OBC settlements/areas were given priority according to geographical conditions for opening the centres. He said that on the basis of census year 2011, a total of 20 new Anganwadi centers will be opened in the assembly constituencies Karauli, Hindaun, Sapotra and Todabhim. Before this, the perimeter, area and wards of the centers will be determined afresh. So that the target group of children aged 0-6 years, pregnant, lactating women and adolescent girls could not be doubled (included within the perimeter of each other Anganwadi).

These centers will be operated by assigning additional responsibilities to the workers of the nearest Anganwadi center.noteworthy It is said that 1309 Anganwadi centers are operating in 6 projects of the department operating in the district. With the opening of 20 new centres, the number will increase to 1329. There is a shortage of personnel in the department for a long time. Other posts including Anganwadi workers are also vacant. Due to which even the beneficiaries are not getting proper benefits from the departmental schemes. Opening of a new center will put pressure on employees due to additional workload.
