Jodhpur : 25-year-old Anita’s heart, who was brought to Jaipur from Jodhpur’s AIIMS hospital on Sunday, has been transplanted to a patient in SMS Hospital and one kidney in SMS Superspeciality Hospital. The condition of both the transplanted patients is said to be fine. In this regard, Senior Professor of CTVS Department, Dr. Rajkumar Yadav said that on Saturday evening at 5 pm, information was received that the family members of a deceased in Jodhpur AIIMS have given consent for organ donation. After which it was found that Barmer resident Pooja Sain (34) needs a heart transplant because her heart is working only 20 percent. Her family members were contacted. They left from Barmer and reached SMS. Here, at around 12 midnight, we left from Jaipur and reached Jodhpur at 7 am. From there, we took the heart and reached Jaipur in just 50 minutes by the 11 am flight. The transplant process started in the OT at 12.30 pm, which continued till 5.30 pm. The heart transplant was done in five hours.
Dr. Yadav said that the patient is still unconscious. He will regain consciousness only after about 24 hours, although the transplant has been completely successful. Dr. Shivam Priyadarshi, HOD of Urology Department of SMS Superspeciality Hospital, said that his team arrived with the kidney from Jodhpur at 4 pm on Sunday evening. It was transplanted to Anita Meena (Jaipur), resident of Malviya Nagar. This process took about two and a half hours. The transplant team included Dr. Neeraj Agarwal, Dr. Prashant, Dr. RD Sahu, Dr. Varsha Kothari and members of their team under the direction of Dr. Shivam Priyadarshi.
Anita gave a new life to four people
According to doctors, Anita and her five-year-old son were injured in a road accident on July 16 in Sindhari, Barmer. Both were admitted to the hospital. But Anita’s health did not improve and she died. After which the AIIMS hospital administration talked to her family for organ donation. They agreed after persuasion. After this, Anita’s heart, kidney and liver were donated. In this way, before leaving this world, Anita gave a new life to four people.
