Barmer : 250 goats that came to the Indian border from Pakistan on July 19 in Barmer, Rajasthan have become a headache for the BSF. Customs cannot take these goats under the new rules. In such a situation, the BSF jawans are forced to take care of these goats till the auction process. After the fencing was cut between Sarupe Ka Tala and Miya Ka Tala in Dhanau area of ββββthe Indo-Pak western border, more than 250 Pakistani goats that reached the Indian border from Zero Point were caught by the BSF. The BSF claims that Pakistani shepherds do not pay attention till Zero Point, this problem has been going on for a long time. In such a situation, the goats were seized. Now the goats are under the care of BSF jawans for a month. Now the process of selling them by auction is going on, but no clear orders have been issued yet.
Customs refuses to accept goats
Goods and livestock coming illegally from other countries to India were confiscated under the Customs Act, but now there has been a change in the Customs Act. The Customs Department confiscates the goods and takes further action, but now there is a provision to dispose of the animals coming from across the border at the local level. In such a situation, the Customs has refused to take the goats citing the rule. In such a situation, there is a provision to give these goats to an NGO, but since there is no such NGO, now the goats will be auctioned at the local level.
Goats in BOP since one month
For the past one month, BSF jawans are taking care of these goats. However, when it rains, there is a lot of green fodder on the border, so there is no problem for BSF regarding fodder. Two to four jawans have to take care of them. The help of villagers is also being taken in this.
Pakistan is denying
These goats entered the Indian border after the fencing was cut. In such a situation, India is trying to find out which Pakistani shepherd owns these goats. Meanwhile, Pakistan is refusing to take them so that the shepherd is not known. Secondly, it cannot be proved that the fencing was cut from Pakistan’s side.
