Despite this, mobiles, SIMs, earphones, Zarda-Gutkha, beedi-cigarettes and intoxicants are reaching the jails. After examining the checking, seizures, FIRs and action against jail staff in the jails of the state during two years, it came to light that despite all the efforts, objectionable material could not be stopped from reaching the prisoners in the jails. However, for security reasons, the jail staff is provided with RAAC personnel who keep a tight vigil at the main gate. Still, mobile SIMs are reaching the prisoners. In the years 22 and 23, jail staff searched prisoners 23,897 times and police searched prisoners 186 times. During this period, 325 mobiles, 134 SIMs, 104 batteries, 56 chargers, 61 data cables, 53 earphones, 472 gutkha-zarda, 3838 beedi-cigarettes have been recovered. 168 FIRs were lodged in police stations. 5 weapons were also recovered from Central Jail Jodhpur, 1 from Jaipur and 2 from Bharatpur.
