Barmer : People of the area will get better rail transportation facilities in the coming year on the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi rail route of Balotra district. A new corridor will be established for goods trains passing through this route. Railway line will be doubled in 278 kilometers of Luni-Samdari-Bhiladi, an important project of the Central Government. Railways has started the work between Marwar Kori-Bhildi in the first phase for the doubling of railways in four parts. It’s been three-four months. Now work order has been issued for the important project between Luni and Bishangarh. The proposed period to complete the said construction is 18 months. A total of Rs 3530.92 crore will be spent on this big project.
Rail project is important
* Doubling of Luni-Samdari-Bhildi railway section will make movement of containers easier.
* This will be an easy trek to send goods to Kandla Port and from there to various markets.
*By the time more passenger trains operate on this route than before, direct connectivity with remote areas will be established.
*The Cabinet of the Government of India had approved the doubling of 3 important railway routes of Rajasthan on 8 February 2024. Apart from the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi route, it included Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer-Chanderia project.
This is how the work will be done
In the first phase, work order for Kori-Bhildi was issued, work on this is going on these days. It should be noted that more than 50 goods trains operate on the Luni-Bhiladi railway route in 24 hours. With the doubling of this railway line and direct connection with Kandla port, this route will open the doors of prosperity for the railways.
Luni-Bishangarh work started, 12 railway stations will be transformed
Railways has issued work orders for construction in Luni-Bishangarh distance of 97.5 kilometers. Rs 346 crore will be spent on this. Construction of buildings, platforms, construction of small culverts and earthwork will be done at the railway stations of Luni, Satlana, Dudiya, Dhundhara, Maheshnagar Halt, Ajit, Samdari, Bamsin, Rakhi, Mokalsar, Balwada, Vishangarh on this route. These days, the part of the railway track where the second line is being laid is being cleaned. Other important work is being done. Work will be started on a large scale soon.
There is happiness in the entire area due to the commencement of doubling work of Luni-Samdari-Bhildi railway route. With this, the journey between Jodhpur-Ahmedabad will be very easy. Contact with remote areas will be of great benefit. The development of the area will also gain momentum.
