Mandi, December 3 (IANS). A soldier from Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh was martyred while on duty in Siachen Glacier. Lack of oxygen is said to be the cause of martyrdom. The family members have been informed about the martyrdom of the soldier. After this there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area.
Havildar Naval Kishore, 28, of Jalaun village of Gram Panchayat Sadoh falling under Kotli sub-division of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, sacrificed his life while protecting the Siachen Glacier motherland. The cause of martyrdom is said to be lack of oxygen in Siachen Glacier due to climate change. After the martyrdom of Havildar Naval Kishore, there is mourning in the entire area.
Martyr Havildar Naval Kishore, 28, was recruited in Jack Rifle in 2017. Only one and a half years ago, Naval Kishore was married to police woman constable Shweta Devi. Constable Shweta is posted on duty at Tapri police station in Kinnaur. Martyr’s father Bhagat Ram told that he received the information about Naval Kishore’s martyrdom at around 9 pm on Sunday night, by phone from the military officer of the unit.
He told that Naval Kishore had gone on leave for four days two and a half months ago for duty in Siachen Glacier and had again talked about coming on leave in March. Naval Kishore spoke to his parents for the last time on phone on Saturday. He leaves behind his parents, wife and younger brother. Martyr’s younger brother Sunil is also posted in the army with 8 Jack Rifle.
Deputy Director of Sainik Welfare Department, Lieutenant Colonel Gopal Guleria said that he has received information about the martyrdom of Naval Kishore from the unit commander. The mortal remains of the martyr will be airlifted to Chandigarh on Tuesday. From where he will be taken to his home in Jalaun by road and his last rites will be performed with full military honours. But further action will be completed only keeping the weather in mind. According to the information received from the Army office, Havildar Naval Kishore died due to climatic and environmental factors in Siachen Glacier.
