Banswara : Bio gas will soon be made from Napier grass in Banswara. For this, 4 units of bio gas are going to be installed in the district. The organizations setting up the units will prepare Napier grass in the farmers’ fields and then buy it for Rs 1,000 per tonne. That means one rupee per kilogram. The income of the farmers associated with this project will be doubled. Besides, organic fertilizer will be made from the waste left after making bio fuel, which will also be cheaper than the current market rate. With this, farmers will move towards organic farming.
Recently, along with the District Industries Centre, 4 institutions of Banswara have signed MoU. Under this, information about making bio fuel has been given. 10 bighas of land is required for a project. Also its cost will be around Rs 10 crore. On completion of one project, around 500 people will get employment.
4 units are going to be set up in Banswara. Construction work of one is going on. While land conversion etc. of the remaining 3 has been done. For the first project, farmers will be given seeds and grass will be sown in January. Production in the first unit is expected to start in the month of May. Bio gas will be made from this grass. If it is used in vehicles then it will be called CNG and if it is used in home then it will be called PNG. Only machines made in India are being used in this project.
