Jaipur : An interesting news related to the administration of Rajasthan has come to light. According to the information, the search for a new head of town planning has intensified. This is the first time that there are four contenders for the post of Chief Town Planner (CTP). For this there is a stir from the capital Jaipur to Delhi.
Current CTP will retire on September 30
Actually, the current CTP Sandeep Dandwate is retiring on 30th September. Now new CTP has to be appointed. This race includes three officers of the level of Chief Town Planner and one officer of the level of Additional Chief Town Planner. Among the claimants are JDA Director of Planning Vinay Kumar Dalela, RK Tulara appointed in the Town Planning Department, Mukesh Mittal, Additional Chief Town Planner in Ajmer Development Authority and Anil Mathur appointed in the Housing Board. According to sources, two of them have reached Delhi. However, the Bhajan Lal government is doing its homework on making appointments as per merit, even if one is senior to the other. The most powerful post of town planning is that of the Chief Town Planner.
That’s why this post of CTP is important
Even though the work of making master plans of cities is done by the urban bodies, the main role in this is played by the CTP office. The government also takes the opinion of CTP before making any major investment related to land and project. They are also responsible for the planned development of cities.
