Tonk : The District and Sessions Court on Friday rejected the bail plea of 41 people in the case of stone pelting and disturbance that took place on the day of assembly by-election voting in Samravata village of Tonk district. Now a petition will have to be filed in the High Court for their bail. Recently, separate petitions for bail of two were filed. The judge has rejected the bail of all 41 people.
The villagers of Samravata had boycotted it. Independent candidate Naresh Meena also sat on strike supporting the villagers. During this, independent candidate Naresh Meena accused the sector in-charge (Malpura SDM) of forcibly casting his vote. After this, during the arrest of Naresh Meena on the same night, there was lathi charge, stone pelting and arson. The police had arrested 50 people including this Meena. Then he was sent to jail by court order. In this case, four minors were granted bail a week ago.
The bail hearing of 41 prisoners was held on Monday, but due to the police not completing the file, the court had fixed December 5 for the hearing.
