5000 Ganesh idols immersed in 15 hours, chants of Ganpati Bappa, Banswara created history

Banswara : A procession of huge Ganesh idols was taken out on Tuesday in Banswara, which is known as Lodhi Kashi, for more than five kilometers. During this, more than five thousand Ganesh idols, big and small, were immersed in the city. Dozens of idols were immersed in almost every village. The immersion process started early in the morning at Dialab pond and continued till after 10 pm at night.

On the last day of the ten-day Ganesh festival, Anant Chaturdashi, a procession of about five thousand big and small idols began from the city’s Trayambakeshwar Mahadev temple under the leadership of former minister Bhavani Joshi. 70-year-old former minister Bhavani Joshi, carrying the Ganesh idol on his head, walked about five kilometers in the city to reach Dialab pond and the immersion was done with full rituals. Ganesh idols were taken to the immersion site on camel carts, tractors, jeeps and other vehicles. Along with this, immersion was also done at other places including Chidiyawasa, Lodha pond.

The procession lasted for about 15 hours

Ganesh Visarjan started at 7 am and the immersion process continued till 10 pm. During this time, hundreds of devotees remained present at the immersion site throughout the day. At the immersion site, the devotees performed the aarti of their deity and after the worship, immersed the Vignaharta with moist eyes with the feeling of ‘Come back soon next year’.
