57.64 percent voting in Kedarnath assembly seat

Kedarnath, November 21 (IANS). 57.64 percent voting took place in the by-election held on Wednesday in Kedarnath assembly seat of Uttarakhand. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that voting ended at 6 pm at 173 polling stations. He thanked the voters for voting peacefully. During this period, no information about any untoward incident was received from anywhere. A total of 57.64 percent voting took place on this seat.

According to the data given by the Election Commission, there were a total of 90 thousand 875 voters in the by-election held on this seat, which included 45 thousand 956 female and 44 thousand 919 male voters.

There is a tough fight between BJP and Congress on this assembly seat. This seat is a neck-and-neck fight for both the parties. BJP and Congress had given their full strength in the election campaign for this seat. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had campaigned for BJP candidate Asha Nautiyal on this seat. Uttarakhand government ministers had also reached this seat to campaign in support of the BJP candidate.

Talking about statistics, till now BJP candidates have won this seat thrice and Congress candidates twice. This seat became vacant after the death of BJP MLA Shaila Rani Rawat, after which by-elections have been conducted on this seat by the Election Commission.

BJP’s candidate for Kedarnath seat, Asha Nautiyal, is the president of BJP Mahila Morcha in the state. Asha is confident that the public will give her a chance.

At the same time, Manoj Rawat of Congress has contested from Kedarnath assembly seat. Congress State President Karan Mahara believes that the people here are upset due to the misgovernance of BJP. Because of BJP, Kedarnath and Chardham Yatra have been ruined due to which there is anger among the public.
