Sambhal, 28 November (IANS). Moradabad Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said that 27 people have been arrested in the Sambhal violence and a total of 7 FIRs have been registered so far. Due to security reasons, internet service has not been restored in the area yet.
He said that as per the legal process and following the directions of the honorable courts, we are taking all necessary steps to identify the people involved in the disturbance.
He said that photographs and videos of the miscreants are being shared among the public so that people can help in identifying them. Along with this, every possible effort is being made to bring the identified people within the ambit of the law.
The police have registered a total of 7 FIRs so far, out of which 4 have been lodged by the families of the deceased. A total of 27 people have been arrested, while 40 people have been banned.
According to Singh, after taking people into confidence, the internet ban will be lifted. Strictest action will be taken against the mastermind of the incident and we will act accordingly as per the order given by the court in this matter. At present the situation is normal in Sambhal. The administration is in constant touch with the people and as a precaution, police force is deployed in the area where the incident took place.
On November 24, violence took place during a survey in a local mosque in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Stones were pelted at the survey team.
Police on Wednesday released posters of 45 miscreants based on CCTV footage to identify those involved.
The posters have been released on the basis of pictures taken from CCTV footage. The police have also made public the names and addresses of many miscreants.
The damage caused during the disturbance will also be compensated by these miscreants. In these CCTV pictures, these miscreants are seen wearing cloth over their faces and carrying stones in their hands. Some people are also seen pelting stones at the police team and the team that went for survey.
Till now, more than 100 accused have been identified on the basis of videos obtained from mobile, CCTV footage and drone cameras, out of which 27 accused have been arrested.
