Samastipur, 8 January: In a tragic incident in the Musrigharari police station area of Samastipur district, Bihar, a man died allegedly after consuming poisonous liquor, while his son lost his eyesight. Police are investigating the case and conducting raids to apprehend the accused.
Police informed that on Thursday, they received a report from Radha Devi, wife of Bablu Sah, a resident of Bakhri Burjurg village in the Musrigharari area. She stated that her father-in-law died during treatment on 3 January after consuming a toxic substance, and her husband Bablu Sah’s eyesight was severely affected. On receiving the information, police reached the spot and initiated an inquiry.
The station in-charge immediately alerted senior police officials. Subsequently, the Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police-cum-Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Samastipur, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), and other administrative officers visited the location for inspection.
SDPO Sanjay Kumar Pandey said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on the victim family’s statement and an investigation team has been formed. Preliminary findings reveal that on the evening of 1 January, four tetra packs of liquor were brought from Arvind Kumar Sah alias Bantha in the village. Both father and son consumed the liquor.
After consumption, their health deteriorated, and they were taken to a local hospital. During treatment, Bablu Sah’s father, Baleshwar Sah, passed away on 3 January. The body was cremated without a post-mortem. Further action will be taken after scientific examination. Police are conducting raids to arrest the culprits and are collecting evidence through detailed investigation.
