New Delhi, December 6 (IANS). A wad of notes has been found under the Congress bench in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament. This information was given by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
He said, “I wish to inform that after the adjournment of the House yesterday, when routine checking was carried out, the security officials recovered a stack of currency notes from seat number 222 (which is currently allotted to Abhishek Manu Singhvi) Did. This matter has been brought to my attention, and I have asked to ensure that the investigation is conducted legally. “Action should be taken as per the rules.”
At the same time, as soon as the Chairman talked about receiving the notes, the opposition parties started creating ruckus.
Meanwhile, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Till the time the matter is under investigation and nothing becomes clear, the Chairman should not take the name of Abhishek Manu Singhvi.”
Objecting to this statement of Kharge, the ruling party MPs started creating ruckus. On this, Kharge said that by doing such a chilling act, these people have defamed the name of the country.
Kharge told the Chairman that how can you mention someone’s name and his seat like this? On this the Chairman said that the seat has been mentioned and it has been told to whom this seat has been allotted.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda said, “This is a very unfortunate and serious issue. This is an attack on the dignity of the House. I am confident that there will be a proper investigation. I had expected that the opposition leader would demand a detailed investigation. The opposition should always maintain good sense. “Both sides should condemn this.”
