A child found infected with Chandipura virus in this district of Rajasthan, panic created

Dungarpur : 16 days ago in Dungarpur District Hospital, samples of two children admitted in critical condition from different areas were sent to Pune’s biological lab on symptoms similar to Chandipura virus. Chandipura virus has been confirmed in one of the children. However, the team of doctors recovered the child by providing better services. Hence, he was discharged on Saturday itself. At the same time, the report of another girl admitted in the hospital has come negative. But, she has been referred to Udaipur after she developed vision related problems in her eyes.

District Hospital’s Pediatrician Dr. Nilesh Gothi said that on July 12, a three-year-old child from Baldia village was admitted to the district hospital in a critical condition. As his symptoms were similar to Chandipura virus, a water sample was taken from the spinal cord and sent to the lab in Pune. During this time, the child was given better treatment. He had many physical ailments including intestinal and high fever. When the child’s condition improved rapidly and became normal, he was discharged on Saturday. On Sunday, his report came positive. However, now there is no need to panic. The team of doctors included Pediatrician Dr. Nilesh Gothi, Dr. Gaurav Yadav and Dr. Ramprakash along with nursing staff.

Report negative, referred to Udaipur

Dr. Gothi said that a four and a half year old girl from Pargi Fala of Ramsaur district was also admitted on July 10. Her report was sent as her symptoms were similar to Chandipura virus. But the report has come negative. The condition of the girl is normal. But she is complaining of poor and blurred vision. She has been referred to Udaipur.
