Jaipur : A major accident of a train going from Asarwa (Ahmedabad) to Jaipur was averted. In the Sadar police station area of Dungarpur district, some distance away from Kotana railway station, miscreants placed iron rods on the railway tracks. The loco pilot noticed it from a distance. The pilot stopped the train and removed the iron rods and sent it forward. On receiving the information, the railway administration and GRP police team reached the spot. 6 iron rods placed on the tracks have been seized. Police is searching for the miscreants.
Rods were placed on the tracks near Kotana station
GRP police said that the train going from Asarwa (Ahmedabad) to Jaipur left Dungarpur station at 11 pm on Sunday night. 4 km away from the station, near Kotana station, large iron rods were kept on the tracks. Seeing the iron rods on the tracks in the darkness of the night, the loco pilot applied emergency brakes and stopped the train.
12MM rods found on railway track
The loco pilot got down from the train. But, there was no one on the spot. The pilot informed Dungarpur railway station master and GRP police about this. On receiving the information, GRP police and railway administration officials reached the spot. About 6 iron rods of 12MM were found kept on the tracks, which were confiscated by GRP. After this, the train left for Udaipur and Jaipur. The miscreants wanted to derail the train by placing the iron rods on the railway track, but the accident was averted due to the alertness of the loco pilot.
