Jaipur : Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Wednesday and thanked him for the cooperation given for the development of highways in Rajasthan. In the last 10 years, the Central Government has approved works worth about one lakh crore to strengthen the road network in Rajasthan. Diya Kumari assured him that the sanction was given to strengthen the road network in the state. The state government will provide all possible support for timely implementation of various schemes. He also demanded to sanction more roads to Rajasthan from Central Road and Infrastructure Fund – CRIF.
Demand for ropeway construction and national highway
Referring to various important works related to Rajasthan, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari made the demand to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He demanded that the Brij-Chaurasi Parikrama Marg be declared a national highway and developed. He also demanded the Central Government to issue approval for the construction of ropeways at places of religious and tourist importance by the Tourism Department of Rajasthan under the ‘Parvatmala Scheme’ of the Government of India.
Rs 8322 crore plan for highway development
Diya Kumari also requested the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to issue approval for the construction of 9 greenfield expressways to be built in the state. Diya Kumari told that out of the 9 greenfield expressways to be built in Rajasthan, the DPR of Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur project was sent to NHAI. A request has also been made to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval of the works of the remaining 8 expressways. Gadkari told Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari that there is a plan of Rs 8322 crore for the development of highways in Rajasthan. If necessary, additional work will also be approved. He also assured to take concrete steps to complete the work on Delhi-Jaipur-Kishangarh route expeditiously.
Government’s plan for double engine and its development
Barodamev-Kumher-Nadbai-Bharatpur Highway, Link Highway to connect Mathura to Jaipur-Agra Road via Nadbai, Connectivity for entry and exit from Delhi Mumbai Expressway to Bandikui during the meeting with Union Minister Gadkari by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Survey, Jaipur-Kishangarh Project, Black Spot Survey on Jaipur-Rings route, Ring in Jaipur-Udaipur and Ajmer. Other plans include road construction, early completion of four-lane elevated flyover construction in Jodhpur and construction of flyovers at Saras intersection, Ghana, Saver Mode, Sheesham Tiraha in Bharatpur, underpass and service road near Medical College, Technology Park, Baras. Diya Kumari expressed confidence that just as the Central Government has provided full help in the construction of highways in Rajasthan in the last 10 years, similarly new dimensions of infrastructure development will be established during the tenure of the double engine government of Rajasthan.
