Sawai Madhopur : A jackal attacked a two-year-old girl in Tapra village near Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur. Due to which she died. Tapra village of Norada is adjacent to the Baler range of Ranthambore National Park. Farmers were weeding chillies in the field near the village. A jackal (wildlife) picked up a two-month-old girl sleeping on a cot in the thatched roof and took her away. The family members started shouting and pelted stones. The jackal left the girl in the mouth of the jackal about 150 meters away and ran away. The family members took the injured two-month-old girl Tanishka to Khandar Hospital, where doctors declared the girl dead.
Forest workers took paw prints
On receiving the information, the forest workers reached the spot and took the paw prints of the jackal. In this case, the forest department officials are washing their hands off the matter by saying that it was a dog attack instead of a wild animal jackal. According to the forest department, Satyanarayan Bairwa had a two-month-old daughter Tanishka. Tanishka’s father Roop Narayan and uncle Mahesh Bairwa said that they were weeding the chilli crop in the field.
Tanishka was sleeping on a cot in the thatched roof
Tanishka was sleeping on a cot in a hut nearby. Hearing Tanishka’s crying, her mother Chandrakala went inside the hut to feed her milk. The child became quiet as soon as she was fed milk. The mother went back to work in the field. Tanishka’s father went inside the hut to drink water. As soon as he was about to go back to the field after drinking water, a jackal suddenly attacked his innocent two-month-old daughter Tanishka. It started running away after grabbing her in its jaws.
The jackal ran away after grabbing the girl in his jaws
When the father shouted, people chased the jackal. To free the girl, people even threw stones at the jackal. During this, the jackal ran away leaving the girl behind after going about 150 meters. The girl was completely injured in the jackal attack. The family took the girl to Khandar Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
Villagers expressed their anger
In this regard, despite asking the forest officer to come to the spot several times, the forest officer and other officials have not yet reached the village, due to which the villagers are angry. The villagers have demanded the District Collector and CCF to investigate the matter and provide proper compensation and take action against the forest workers who ignored the matter.
The forest guard said- it was not the jackal but the dog who took the girl away
Ranthambore’s Assistant Forest Conservator Arun Sharma says that he is not aware of this case. The Baleer Range Forest Officer has not informed the higher authorities about the case till now. This shows their negligence. Fair action will be taken in the case after finding out. Baleer Range Forest Officer Chauthmal says that the girl was not attacked by a jackal but a dog had taken away the sleeping girl. The forest workers who reached the spot did not find the paw marks of the wild animal. The allegations of the family are baseless.
