Bharatpur : About 800 people from Bharatpur and Deeg district had gone to attend the satsang of Bhole Baba in Fullerai village of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. A woman from Deeg died due to the stampede, while many people from Bharatpur area were injured. By late night, the devotees who had gone to attend the satsang reached their homes. So far, the district administration has not received any list of casualties of devotees from Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, Rajedri wife of Prasadi, resident of village Jahanveer Sahalwara, police station Kumher, Kumher, had gone to the satsang with her family and neighbors. Where she got injured in the stampede. She was admitted to the hospital. Where she died in the evening. Apart from this, a woman Rani (40) and her daughter Jyoti (16) from Malah village also came to the satsang, in which the woman Rani got injured. She has been admitted to the hospital in Etah. The bus had come from Vijaya Nagar Colony, Kumha, Dayopura Gaonwa from Bharatpur. The rest of the people had reached Hathras in their small vehicles. On the other hand, Deeg Collector Shruti Bhardwaj and Bharatpur Collector Dr. Amit Yadav said that the UP administration has not confirmed any casualties from the state in the stampede.
And suddenly the women started falling
Eyewitnesses said that thousands of devotees were present at the venue of the satsang. Due to the extreme heat and humidity, when the program ended, the entire crowd stood up at once and more than two dozen women fainted and fell down. This led to a rumour at the venue that people were dying due to some disaster. This created a stampede.
The followers went from here
Hundreds of followers of Bhole Baba from Jatav community from Kumher town as well as Pichumar, Supavas, Sabaura Chowkipura, Sikkori and other villages go for the satsang. For the satsang organized in Hathras, men and women of Jatav community went to Hathras in about four buses and small vehicles from rural areas including the big locality of Kumher town to listen to Bhole Baba’s satsang.
27 bodies in the hospital
Vijendra, a resident of Kumbha who had gone to attend the satsang, said that there is a committee named Manav Mangal Milan Sadbhavana Samagam. We had received information about the satsang from them. People who were to attend from Bharatpur left for Hathras at around 6 am. Vijendra said that our bus could not even leave Hathras when we came to know about the accident. We contacted the committee of Hathras. After this, we reached Hathras in search of people from Bharatpur where we came to know that a woman named Rani from Malah and her daughter Jyoti were injured and were admitted to Etah Hospital. When we all reached Etah, we came to know that Rani had fainted. There were about 27 bodies kept in Etah Hospital. The police there showed us all the bodies, but we did not find any of them to be from Bharatpur.
