Many cases of cyber fraud have come to light in Rajasthan also in the last few days. After which now the DG of Cyber ​​​​Crime Branch of Rajasthan Police has issued advisory to avoid fake e-challan. Rajasthan Police Headquarters has issued an advisory to the common citizens regarding manipulation by cyber thugs in the link related to payment of e-challans received by citizens for violation of traffic rules. So that the general public can avoid fake e-challans and identify the difference between valid and illegal SMS, many information related to challan has been given in the advisory. Cyber ​​​​Crime DGP Hemant Priyadarshi said that in the present technological era, citizens are increasing their traffic jams. In case of violation of rules, ‘e-challans’ are issued to them, which are sent by SMS to the registered mobile number of the person violating the rules.

Advisory issued to avoid getting caught in cyber fraud through e-challan

Cases of cyber criminals cheating people unaware of technical intricacies through ‘fake e-challan’ have come to light in the state. This advisory has been issued to ensure that the general public does not become a victim of fraud or fraud through ‘fake e-challan’.

E-challan message never comes on WhatsApp

DGP said that ‘e-challan’ is sent only through SMS on the mobile number registered at the time of online vehicle challan registration and is never sent on WhatsApp application. The ‘header’ of an authorized SMS is VAAHAN only. In this SMS message, the department sends details related to traffic rules and a link https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in to pay the challan.

Cyber ​​​​thugs make victims with similar URLs

Cyber ​​​​thugs can try to cheat by creating fake e-invoices with similar names (URLs) like .rajasthan, .org. In such a situation, even those citizens who have not violated traffic rules can be made victims of fraud by sending fake SMS or WhatsApp messages. He has appealed to the citizens to avoid becoming victims of fraud by identifying fake and legitimate SMS.

How to identify valid SMS

DGP Priyadarshi said that to verify the validity of the message received for e-challan or to know the SMS header, SMS can be sent to number 1909. For this any person can write DETAILS OF in capital letters.

DGP Cyber ​​​​Crime said that even after this, if there is even the slightest doubt on the e-challan received for payment, then the common citizen can make the payment after checking the challan number on the ‘POS machine’ available with the traffic police officer.
