Jaisalmer : A few days ago, a suspicious object fell from the sky in Pokhran, Jaisalmer, causing a stir. Due to the falling of the object, a loud sound was heard in the area and a deep crater was formed on the ground. Now the Indian Air Force has given information about it. The IAF said that an ‘air store’ fell on the ground from the army’s fighter planes, an investigation of which has been ordered.
What is ‘Air Store’?
In military language, anything attached to an aircraft or any part of it is called ‘air store’. Bombs, missiles, ammunition and even fuel tanks are called ‘air stores’.
What did the Indian Air Force say
The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Wednesday said that one of its fighter aircraft inadvertently dropped air stores near Pokhran Firing Range in Rajasthan due to a technical fault. There was no loss of life or property in the incident and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. The IAF said on Twitter, “Air stores were inadvertently dropped from a fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) near Pokhran Firing Range area today due to a technical fault.” Officials said the incident took place in a deserted area.
There was a loud noise
The IAF said, ‘An inquiry has been ordered by the Air Force to investigate this incident. There has been no loss of life or property.’ It is not immediately known what type of ‘air store’ fell from the plane. Police sub-inspector Shankar Lal of Ramdevra police station said that some people heard a loud explosion about a kilometer away from the village, after which they reached the spot and saw that pieces of some object were lying here and there.
