Rajsamand : A major accident took place late Monday night in Chikalwas village of Rajsamand district. The roof of a community building suddenly collapsed here, in which 4 workers died on the spot and 9 workers were seriously injured. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the team of local administration including Collector-SP reached the spot and started the rescue operation.
Villagers received information over phone
After this incident, there was chaos in the village and the whole village remained awake the whole night. All the people are said to be from the same colony. After about 5 hours of rescue operation, 13 people buried under the debris were taken out on Tuesday morning, out of which 4 had died, while the other 9 are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Collector Dr. Bhanwarlal told that a Dharamshala was being constructed by the Meghwal community in Chiklavas village with public cooperation. On Monday, the bamboo poles were removed from under the roof and after that at 9 pm on Monday night, the villagers went to clean and paint the under-construction Dharamshala. Then at exactly 9.30 pm the roof collapsed. 13 people doing the cleaning work got buried under it. The collector told that there was no house nearby. Later, Ward Panch Hiralal, who was buried under the roof, called from his mobile and informed the village about the accident. After this, a large number of villagers from the village reached there.
6 JCBs carried out the rescue operation till 3 am
Khamnor police station in-charge Bhagwan Singh, Nathdwara DSP Dinesh Sukhwal reached the spot with the force. District Collector Dr. Bhanwarlal and SP Manish Tripathi, ASP Mahendra Kumar also reached the spot at 10:30 pm. Along with this, SDRF team, Civil Defense personnel were called and rescue was done. More than half a dozen JCBs were called to remove the debris and a drilling machine was called to break the roof. In this way, the rescue operation was started at 11 pm, in which 3 people were immediately rescued safely by breaking the roof. 4 people died in the accident and the 6 injured who were later rescued were admitted to Govardhan Government District Hospital in Nathdwara. This rescue was completed at around 3 am in the morning.
