New Delhi, November 15 (IANS). Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva had a special conversation with IANS on Thursday. During this, he expressed his reaction on the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections, pollution in Delhi and the performance of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
After the victory of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi MCD Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections, Virendra Sachdeva said that Aam Aadmi Party should understand why they are not happy even after winning? When the time came to elect a Dalit mayor in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party deliberately withheld the rights of a Dalit candidate for eight months. It was the struggle of the Bharatiya Janata Party that ultimately they were forced to hold elections.
Sachdeva said that the anti-Dalit face of Aam Aadmi Party has now come in front of the people of Delhi. You had more numbers, but even after winning, your happiness is false. Your councilors voting against you is a big message. Now Arvind Kejriwal should think whether he should remain the convenor of the party or not.
On implementation of Grap-3 in Delhi, he said that our priority was always the health of the children and elderly of Delhi. We wanted that the people of Delhi should not be affected by pollution, but this situation is the result of the failure of the present government of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal’s government has not taken any concrete steps regarding pollution in the last 10 years. Now the people of Delhi are suffering the punishment for this. He said that as restrictions are imposed, the functioning of the general public gets affected, but it is most important to save their lives. He also said that the Aam Aadmi Party has failed to make any concrete policy on pollution and now Delhiites will have to take care of themselves as the government is not going to help them.
Virendra Sachdeva took a dig at the Green War Room created by Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai to tackle pollution. He said that Gopal Rai only does events, he does not have any concrete plan to control the pollution levels. Now apps giving information about pollution are available in every mobile phone, people can see for themselves what is the level of pollution in which area of Delhi. Gopal Rai organizes events just to get his news published, but he has no concrete steps to control pollution. He has proved to be the most unsuccessful environment minister till date.
On getting bail to Aam Aadmi Party leader Amanatullah Khan, Virendra Sachdeva said that getting bail does not mean that you are free from that crime. This is just part of the legal process. Every criminal gets bail, and the law will take its course. When the time comes, they will also be punished.
