Accountant accused of fraud in Ajmer company arrested, interrogation continues

Ajmer : Nasirabad Sadar police station of Ajmer district has arrested an accountant accused of fraud and embezzlement from a transport company. The accused had got an amount of Rs 15 lakh transferred to the account as collateral by falsely showing that the vehicles of his relatives were registered with the company. After about 7 months, the police arrested the accused. The police is busy interrogating the arrested accountant. Nasirabad Sadar police station in-charge Prahlad Sahay said that the accused Ajit Singh Rawat (28), son of Manohar Singh Rawat, resident of village Jatiya, was arrested. He was produced in the court and taken on remand for three days. The interrogation of the accused is ongoing.

Transporter Samarvir Singh Rawat, son of Suva Singh, resident of village Jatiya, had registered a case in Sadar police station on May 17 and alleged that he has a transport company in the name of Rawat Road Carrier. For the last 3 years, accused Ajit Singh has been working as a traffic accountant in his transport company at its office in Dilwara and branch in Gandhidham and takes care of all types of transactions and accounts related to the transport company.

Transporter Samarveer Singh had alleged that on May 1, he came to know that accountant Ajit Rawat had conspired with his relatives and friends and transferred the transport amount to his bank accounts as freight by falsely claiming that his vehicles were engaged in his transport company. Got Rs 1524500 transferred from the company’s account. The complainant said that after coming to know about the fraud and embezzlement, he informed the accused Ajit Singh Rawat and his relatives and friends. When he demanded to return the money, the accused started evasive and refused to return the money and threatened to kill him and his family. The police registered a case of fraud and embezzlement and started investigation.
