Accused arrested in case of arson and vandalism at Jaisalmer intersection

Jaisalmer : Police arrested an accused who committed arson by burning tires and breaking the stone railing of the intersection at Hanuman intersection in Jaisalmer. The accused Satyaya, resident of Mukhtyar Khan (25) was arrested in the case. City Kotwali police is interrogating the accused Mukhtyar and searching for other accused. City Kotwali Sawai Singh said – On March 12, 2023, a report was received from Commissioner Municipal Council Jaisalmer that the deceased Rafiq Khan, son of Kasam Khan, resident of Kesuon Ki Basti, Sam village. The pillars of the stone railing of Hanuman Square were broken in protest by the people of the deceased’s community regarding the death. There was an incident of breaking the railing and throwing stones at the common people. During this, arson was committed by burning tires on the public road.

After watching its videography, 20-25 people started vandalizing government property, obstructing public movement by blocking public roads, and stopping the vehicles of commuters by threatening them. During this period, the lives of common people were put in danger by throwing stones and arson by burning tyres. The police took the report and started investigation. Police formed a team and arrested the absconding accused Mukhtyar Khan (25), resident of Satyaya, Jaisalmer and the search for other accused is going on.
