Action against single use plastic in Sawai madhopur, polythene seized

Sawai Madhopur : State Pollution Control Board Sawai Madhopur took action against illegal plastic material in Bajaria area on Friday. The team of State Pollution Control Board and Municipal Council Sawai Madhopur took joint action by running a campaign against illegal plastic material in the city.

Dharamraj Meena, Junior Engineer, Pollution Control Board, Sawai Madhopur, said that this action has been taken by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India for the effective elimination of banned single-use plastic.

He said that in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India under Section 5 of the Environmental Degradation Act 1986 for the effective elimination of banned single use plastic, the regional office in the Municipal Council, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, Sawai Madhopur has taken action against single use plastic.

During this period, action was taken against user shopkeepers, business establishments and private manufacturers who were found using, storing and endorsing plastic. During the operation, about 20 kg of polythene was seized. Also collected a fine of around Rs 5100. He said that similar action will be continued against polythene and seizure and fine action will be taken to control and prevent the use of banned single use plastic.
