Jaipur : On October 17, 2024, Jaipur Police had exposed a gang selling fake degrees and diplomas. On the instructions of DCP East Tejaswani Gautam, the police team raided an e-Mitra center located in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur. Employees working there were found selling fake degrees by charging Rs 20,000 to Rs 2 lakh. Neither does anyone need to go to college or university to fill the form nor go to the class room. The police had revealed that the degrees were being distributed at back date while sitting at home. Police investigation revealed that private universities are also involved in this gang of distributing fake degree diplomas. The gang members used to deposit money online in the bank accounts of private universities in exchange for fake certificates. For doing this, commission is also given by the universities.
Now preparations to tighten the noose on private universities
DCP East Tejaswani Gautam said that E Mitra was operating in the name of Unit Education Consultancy and SSIT Center located in Sector 8 of Jagatpura area. On the complaint of distribution of fake degrees and diplomas under the guise of e-Mitra, a team was formed and sent to the spot under the direction of Additional DCP Asharam Chaudhary. During the search, documents of distribution of fake degree diplomas of 16 universities of different states of the country were found. Tejaswani Gautam told that since the matter was serious. In such a situation, SIT was formed. When SIT members reached private universities for investigation, many universities did not even allow the police entry. After this, SIT head Bassi ACP IPS Vinay Kumar got a search warrant issued from Metropolitan Metro Court 5. Now the police team is preparing to tighten the noose on private universities.
This is how collusion came to light in the investigation
Police have seized many important facts while investigating the case of distribution of fake degrees, diplomas and migration. Police seized many devices including computers and pen drives of e-Mitra operators. Investigation revealed that in exchange for giving degrees, diplomas and migration, money was deposited in the bank accounts of private universities. In return, a huge commission was given to the e-Mitra operator by the private university operators. That is, after investigation it became clear that private universities are also involved in this gang. SIT is now busy in further action.
Distributed 700 degrees sitting at home, collected Rs 10 crore in two years
Police investigation also revealed that in the last two years, this gang sold degrees, diplomas and migration certificates to about 700 youth sitting at home. That means students got degrees without going to college. The private universities whose degrees were sold include a total of 16 private universities from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Rajasthan. According to the police, in the last two years this gang has earned around Rs 10 crore by selling fake degrees, diplomas and migration certificates.
Know what fake documents were recovered by the police
Jaipur National University Jaipur 96 marksheets of PGDCA, 7 Diploma in Post Graduation Application in Computer Science, PG 66 Diploma in Yoga Therapy, 31 Diploma in Yoga, 17 marksheets of B.Sc CBZ, 93 marksheets of BA, 18 marksheets of BCA, BSc PCM 42 marksheets of B.Com, 30 marksheets of B.Com, 12 marksheets of MBM, 6 marksheets of MCA, 6 marksheets of BBA, 18 marksheets of MA English, 3 marksheets of MSC, 5 marksheets of MCA, 3 marksheets of MBA Finance and Management, MBA ( 1 mark sheet of Banking and Financial Management) and 3 mark sheets of MBA Special Market Manager were found. Besides, 2 marksheets of MCA semester of Suresh Gyan Vihar University, 1 marksheet of Library and Information Science of Pratap University, 50 fake documents of University of Technology and 124 certificates of RSCIT of Vardhaman Mahavir Open University were recovered.
Fake documents of many private universities also recovered
6 fake marksheets of Bihar Open Schooling and Examination Board, Patna, 3 fake marksheets of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, 4 fake diplomas of mechanical engineering issued from Nonad University, 2 fake marksheets of Shri Khushal Das University Pilibanga Hanumangarh Rajasthan, Aryabhata Knowledge University, Patna. 6 fake marksheets, 6 fake marksheets of YBN University Ranchi, 3 fake marksheets and migration certificates of Bihar School Examination Board, Patna, 6 fake diplomas issued from Rajiv Gandhi Technological Training Institute, 2 fake marksheets of Secondary Education Council, Uttar Pradesh, National Institute of Open Schooling 8 fake migration and cum transfer certificates, one fake degree of B.Sc Nursing of Choudhary Charan Singh Vidyalaya, Meerut, one fake degree of Bachelor of Arts from Arni University, one certificate of RSCIT issued from Vardhman Mahaveer Open University Kota, one fake degree of B.Sc. Nursing of Telangana Board of Secondary Education, Hyderabad. A mark sheet of BMLT, MS Office certificate issued from Mangalam IT Education and mark sheet of BMLT first semester issued from Manipal Academy of Higher Education were also seized.
Fake rent deed, affidavit, debit card and much more seized
The police team had also recovered fake degree, diploma and migration along with many other fake documents from the e-Mitra Centre. These included 29 fake rent deed, 12 check books, 97 affidavits, 14 back pass books, 13 debit cards and credit cards, 9 ID cards of National Institute of Open Schooling, 7 mobiles, 1 Paytm machine, 2 DVRs, 1 power supply case, One digital zoom megapixel camera, one router, one CPU of Intel company, one monitor of Lenovo company, two laptops, two pen drives and one printer were also seized.
