Adani Power’s S&P Global CSA score was 67, included among the world’s top energy companies.

Ahmedabad, November 28 (IANS). Adani Power on Thursday said it has achieved an exceptional score of 67 out of 100 in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) by global rating agency S&P Global for the financial year 2023-24.

The average score of this sector is 42. At the same time, Adani Power’s score was 48 in the financial year 2022-23.

With this score, Adani Power Limited (APL) has reached the top 80 percent among all global power utilities.

The company said Adani Power is in the top 100 per cent across several elements of the CSA score such as human rights, transparency and reporting, water, waste and pollution. At the same time, in three more elements, which include energy, occupational health and safety and community relations, the company is in the category of 90 percent or above.

“This remarkable achievement underlines APL’s strong commitment to sustainable practices and dedication to incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into its operations,” the company said.

Adani Power has 11 power plants in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu with an installed thermal power capacity of 17,510 MW, besides a 40 MW solar power plant in Gujarat.

The Adani Group company achieved 20 percent year-on-year growth in continuing income at Rs 28,517 crore in the first half of this financial year (April to September 2024). During this period, sustained profit before tax (PBT) has increased by 69 percent to Rs 8,020 crore.

The company’s continuing income in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25 has increased by 10.8 percent to Rs 13,465 crore. At the same time, during this period, the company’s continuous profit before tax (PBT) has increased by 44.8 percent to Rs 3,537 crore.

Consolidated power sales in FY 2024-25 stood at 46 billion units (BU) due to improvement in power demand and higher operational efficiency, which is 29.2 per cent higher than the demand of 35.6 BU in the previous financial year.
