Administration took this step in Kota suicide case, 4 rooms sealed, investigation continues

Kota : The district administration is taking action from time to time to ensure that the district administration guidelines are strictly followed in the suicide cases of coaching students in Kota. During the inspection conducted on the instructions of the district administration in the case of suicide by a coaching student living in PG in Mahavir Nagar III area of ​​Kota, 4 rooms of the house have been sealed due to the absence of anti-hanging device on the fan and other irregularities. In this case, action was initiated by registering a case in the court of Additional District Magistrate (City). On the basis of the investigation report, the Additional District Magistrate took action under Section 133 CrPC and sealed all the four rooms of house number 4-I-11 located in Mahavir Nagar III, and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation South and Police Station Officer Mahavir Nagar to ensure compliance of the order and send a compliance report within 24 hours. The landlord Rajendra Prasad Gautam has been bound to strictly follow the conditions mentioned in the order passed by the court.

Anti hanging machine was not installed
Additional District Magistrate Krishna Shukla said that this action has been taken after the report of non-compliance of the prescribed guidelines regarding the use of spring device for hanging fans in PG. He said that on investigation in the case of suicide by the student, it was found that there was no hanging device in the room. He said that 4 rooms are given on rent in the said house, out of which students were currently living in 2 rooms. After the case of the student’s suicide, the other student has also vacated the room.

Instructions for inspection of hostels and PGs
There are more than 1.5 lakh rooms in Kota including hostels and PGs where coaching students go to stay but most of those rooms do not have anti-hanging devices. The district administration takes action on anti-hanging devices only after a suicide case comes to light. Once again, instructions have been given to inspect hostels and PGs. The additional district magistrate said that on the instructions of the district collector, a team will be formed to inspect the hostels/PGs located in Kota city and the houses rented out to coaching students etc. and if any violation of the guidelines issued by the district administration is found, action will be taken.
