Jaipur : There was competition regarding opening of the gates of Mahi Dam and Bisalpur Dam. But due to water being released from Madhya Pradesh’s Mahi Dam into Rajasthan’s Mahi Dam and rain in the dam’s catchment area, the gates of Mahi Dam had to be opened before Bisalpur Dam. On September 3, at 4 pm, 25000 cusecs of water will be released by opening the four gates of Mahi Dam. Meanwhile, water is also coming in Bisalpur Dam rapidly.
That’s why Mahi’s gates were opened before Bisalpur
The filling capacity of Bisalpur Dam is 315.50 RL meter and till 2 pm on 3rd September, 314.66 RL meter water has come in the dam. In such a situation, Bisalpur Dam is only 84 centimeter empty. But the water is coming in at a very slow pace. In the last one week, four to five centimeter water is coming every day. Here, if we talk about Mahi Dam, then water is being released for Mahi Dam of Banswara, Rajasthan by opening the gate from Mahi main dam of Madhya Pradesh. In the last nine days, more than five meters of water has come in Mahi Dam. Water is also coming continuously and in view of good rain in the area, it was decided to open the gate on Tuesday itself.
1.20 meters empty, still opened the gate
The total water level of Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam is 281.50 meters. Earlier, the plan was to open the gates of Mahi Dam only after the water level reached 281.25 meters. But due to the high inflow of water from Mahi Dam in Madhya Pradesh, the officials of Mahi Dam took this decision earlier. As soon as 280.30 RL meter water comes in Mahi Dam, 2200 cusecs of water will be drained by opening four gates of the dam.
This is how Mahi’s gauge kept increasing
