Barmer : District Collector Tina Dabi interacted with women under Maru Udaan program to promote women empowerment in Barmer district. The program was organized at Gadara Road Panchayat Samiti premises, in which women received important information from experts on health, nutrition and career issues.
Tina Dabi told women that health is most important. They should not take their body pain lightly. He advised women to drink milk, overcome calcium deficiency and take care of their health. Collector said that you always take care of your family, but it is important to take care of yourself also. During this time, he also got the women health checked and told them ways to stay healthy. During this, the Collector said that all you women are precious to your family and society and are also precious to me. On this, a woman also told Collector Dabi that you are also precious to us, then a woman even said that so many collectors have come and gone in Barmer, no one has ever come among us… except you. Dabi couldn’t stop her smile at this and laughed. She said that she was just doing her work.
In this program women also got guidance regarding their career and skills. While talking to the girls, the Collector inspired them to make careers in Army, Police, Nursing, Education and Civil Services. He also announced embroidery training to promote women entrepreneurship. So that women can get the right price for their products and become self-reliant. Four different sessions were organized in this dialogue program. In which women’s mental and physical health, government schemes and professional skills were discussed. In this program, free health check-up of more than 170 women was done and necessary counseling was given to them.
