New Delhi, November 16 (IANS). Mayor-Deputy Mayor elections were recently held in the capital Delhi. Mahesh Khedi has become the new Mayor of Delhi after winning the elections.
After becoming Mayor, Mahesh was seen in active mode on Saturday. He arrived to visit Vasant Vihar for the first time after becoming Mayor. Deputy Mayor Ravindra Bhardwaj and local councilors were also present along with the Mayor. Mayor Mahesh Khedi spoke to IANS during this period.
Mahesh Khegi said that we have come today to visit Vasant Vihar. District officials including MLA, Councilor, Deputy Mayor are also present with us. We are meeting people in all the wards of Vasant Vihar. Taking feedback from them regarding cleanliness. Our aim is to make Delhi clean and neat.
Delhi LG has written a letter to the Chief Secretary directing him to identify Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. On this, Mayor Mahesh Khedi has said that this is a matter of the Centre.
On the accident in Jhansi Medical College, Mayor Mahesh Khedi said that the news of the painful death of newborn children due to fire in Jhansi Medical College is very heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families in this difficult time. The whole country stands with him. We pray to God to give them the strength to bear this immense sorrow.
Deputy Mayor Ravindra Bhardwaj said that the vision of Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is to make Delhi a clean and beautiful city. We are moving forward with this vision. Today we are coming down to the ground and taking feedback from them. Everyone will go to the ward. There are challenges in the responsibility that the party has given us but we have to work. Kejriwal does politics of work and we have to take it forward.
