In 2019, Hanuman fielded his brother in the by-election.
Later he formed RLP and won this seat in the 2018 assembly elections. The Jat leader won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Nagaur in alliance with the BJP and fielded his brother Narayan Beniwal in the by-election from Khinvsar assembly seat. Narayan Beniwal won the by-election. RLP was a part of ‘India’ alliance in the 2023 Lok Sabha elections and Hanuman was again elected as MLA from there. After his election to the Lok Sabha in 2024, this seat became vacant and a by-election was held.
Congress fielded Ratan Chaudhary
This time Congress decided to contest the by-elections without any alliance and fielded Ratan Chaudhary. However, Choudhary could secure only 5,454 votes. Newly elected BJP MLA Danga was a close associate of Hanuman Beniwal at the time of formation of RLP but later he parted ways after being ignored in the party. He decided to join BJP.
Beniwal defeated Jyoti Mirdha in 2019 and 2024
Former Congress MP Jyoti Mirdha, who joined BJP before the assembly elections last year, played an important role in bringing Danga to BJP. Hanuman Beniwal and Jyoti Mirdha have been old rivals. Beniwal had defeated Mirdha in the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar belongs to Khinvsar town of Nagaur. He is an MLA from Lohawat, Jodhpur.
