After bumper yield, farmers are rich due to proper government purchase of groundnut, government rate is getting more than the market price

Churu : Peanuts are being weighed at the support price for the last 11 days in the largest Sardarshahar agricultural produce market of Churu district of Rajasthan. Sardarshahar Agricultural Produce Market is witnessing maximum arrival of groundnuts in the division. This time, farmers are getting Rs 1500 to Rs 2000 more per quintal in groundnut at the government procurement center than the market price. For so many days, peanuts of 40 farmers were being weighed every day. Now it has been increased and the peanuts of 100 farmers are being weighed every day.

Peanuts will be weighed from 100 farmers
Contractor Rafiq Khan, who is purchasing on support price on behalf of the government, said that this time in the interest of the farmers, the government has taken a decision and increased the purchase of groundnuts from 25 quintals to 40 quintals. He told that the weighing time is from 9:15 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening.

He said that the minimum support price of groundnut has been fixed at Rs 6 thousand 783 per quintal. The objective of the farmer registration system is to make the registration process transparent in the interest of farmers. He said that the peanuts of 100 farmers are being weighed here every day.

Traders are buying Rs 5 thousand per quintal
The contractor further said that if the quality of the peanuts is bad, the peanuts of that farmer are rejected and they are not weighed. He told that this entire weighing work is done through online process only. On this occasion, farmers told that on one hand, traders in the market are buying goods by bidding Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 per quintal. At the same time, groundnut is being purchased by the government at support price of Rs 6 thousand 783 per quintal.

Increase purchase from 40 to 100 quintals
Farmers further told that those farmers are selling peanuts at support price. He looks completely happy, but peanuts are being purchased by the traders in the market premises for about Rs 5,000 per quintal. Due to which farmers are also facing losses. The farmers who came to the agricultural produce market for this said that this time the farmers have got a good crop. Therefore, the government should purchase 100 quintals of peanuts per farmer instead of 40 quintals so that the farmers can get benefits.
