Jaipur : Rajasthan High Court on July 22 cancelled the appointment of Mahant Avadheshcharya of Galta Peeth Tirtha of Jaipur. The state government has appointed an administrator to look after Galta Peeth. The collector will be the administrator of Galta Peeth. All the properties of Galta Peeth will be managed and operated under the supervision of the collector.
Rajasthan High Court removed Mahant of Galta Peeth
SDM Jaipur Rajesh Jakhar, ADM III Rajkumar Kaswan, Jaipur Tehsildar Pushpendra Deshwal, ACP Ranu Sharma and Mahendra Kumar of the Devasthan Department reached the spot. From the afternoon of 24 July, the Devasthan Department and the Collectorate have started taking over Galta Tirth and its associated properties. Videography of the properties was done. Boards of Jaipur Collector have been installed. The locks of the donation box kept in the temple were broken and opened. The counting of the money that was put in the donation box for offerings has started.
Worship of Thakur ji will continue in Galta Peeth as before
Puja-paath and seva will continue in the temple as before. Those who used to worship Thakurji in the temple earlier will still do puja-paath daily. The district administration will pay them salary. The district administration will monitor it daily. Galta Peeth has 38 properties in Jaipur Badi Chaupad, Chhoti Chaupad, Ajmer Road, Sikrai, Gangapur City, Fagi and Sawaimadhopur. Rajasthan High Court considered the appointment of Mahant Avdheshacharya of Galta Peeth illegal and removed him from the post. All the properties of Galta Peeth were declared to be of the state government.
