Jaipur : Agriculture Department has advised to protect peanut crop from pests and diseases. Currently, peanut is damaged by Tikka disease, Jaundice disease and White Gnat insect. Advice has been given for farmers of Agricultural Climatic Zone 3A (Jaipur, Ajmer, Tonk and Dausa). Agriculture Department said that while using chemicals, wear gloves on hands, mask on mouth and full clothes. To prevent Tikka disease, use Carbadazim half gram per liter. Spray by making a solution of Mancozeb at the rate of one and a half kg per hectare. And repeat the spraying twice after 10-15 days.
To save the groundnut crop from jaundice disease, prepare a solution of 0.5% Heracles or 0.1% Sulphuric Acid and spray it once before flowering and second time after flowering. For precaution, a small quantity of soap etc. must be added in the solution.
