AIIMS Jodhpur becomes the major center of liver transplant in Rajasthan, 12 successful transplants

Jodhpur : Jodhpur AIIMS Jodhpur has become a major center of liver transplant in entire Rajasthan. 12 liver transplants have been done here in 2 years. Issuing a press note on this achievement, the AIIMS administration said that these include liver transplants taken from 7 living donors and 5 from brain-dead donors. Dr. Vaibhav Kumar Varshney, Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, said that in the beginning of liver transplant, Prof. of ILBS Institute, Delhi. Got support from V Pamecha’s team. Then the three transplants done recently were completely done by the team of AIIMS Jodhpur. This team includes Dr. Vaibhav Varshney, Dr. Subhash Soni, Dr. B. Selvakumar, Dr. Piyush Varshney, and Dr. Lokesh Aggarwal. Whereas, Dr. Pradeep Bhatia, Dr. Manoj Kamal, Dr. Nikhil Kothari and Dr. Ankur Sharma played important roles in the anesthesiology team.

Dr. Govardhan Dutt Puri, Executive Director, AIIMS Jodhpur, said that the institute’s independent liver transplant program is not only important from the medical point of view, but has also brought new hope to the patients suffering from serious liver and kidney diseases.
