New Delhi, December 6 (IANS). All India Imam Organization (AIIO) chief Dr. Omar Ahmed Ilyasi has condemned the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of ISKCON-affiliated saint Chinmoy Krishna Das. He said that this is a very sad situation and it cannot be condemned enough.
Dr. Omar Ahmed Ilyasi, speaking to IANS, said, “I am extremely concerned about the current situation in Bangladesh, especially the atrocities being committed against the minority community there, especially the Hindus. It is a very sad situation and I strongly condemn such incidents. We should remember that Bangladesh and India have always supported Bangladesh. is, whether it is their Be it for the infrastructure or for the welfare of the citizens there, there is a need for peace and oppression. The atrocities on Hindus should be stopped immediately. I am the advisor to the Government of Bangladesh in this matter. I appeal to Mohammad Yunus to take immediate action on this.”
He said, “Those who are trying to worsen the situation and are committing atrocities, strict action should be taken against them and they should be given severe punishment. I especially appeal to the Imams of all the mosques of Bangladesh that They should give the message of peace and tranquility in their Friday prayers and on other days. Islam is a religion of peace, which always talks about peace and harmony. We should follow the real teachings of Islam and everyone. This type of violence should be avoided. I also appeal to the United Nations, UNHRC and other human rights organizations to intervene in this matter and raise their voice against the atrocities happening in Bangladesh. We need to understand this first. We are human beings and followers of any religion. It is our responsibility to serve humanity and promote brotherhood, whether we are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian.”
He said, “I appeal to the Bangladesh administration to immediately release ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Maharaj. What was his crime that he has been put in jail? Moreover, the deadly attack on his lawyer Raman Roy In view of this, the administration should take the responsibility of protecting all the minorities in Bangladesh. I again appeal to all the Imams and religious leaders of Bangladesh to give the message of peace and harmony in Bangladesh. Peace and unity should prevail. We all should take steps to improve the current situation in Bangladesh. I pray to Allah that he may create an atmosphere of peace and harmony in Bangladesh. “
