New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). These days pollution is at its peak in Delhi. AQI in Delhi has reached 481. This falls in the extremely serious category.
Different levels of air pollution were recorded in surrounding areas, with Noida’s air being in the ‘very poor’ category with 384 AQI, Faridabad’s air being in the ‘poor’ category with 320 AQI. While Ghaziabad and Gurugram faced ‘severe’ conditions with AQI of 400 and 446 respectively.
People living in Noida are very worried because of this pollution.
Speaking to IANS, a local resident said, “Pollution has increased a lot in Noida, and its impact is clearly being felt. There is a burning sensation in the eyes and there is also a cough when going out. Now I feel that the authority is not taking any concrete steps in this matter. Like Delhi, neither water sprinkling is being done, nor are any concrete measures being taken to control pollution. There are burning furnaces everywhere, on which no restrictions are being imposed. “Strict action is needed against these furnaces.”
Another resident says, “This smoke stings a lot. We also have a lot of difficulty in breathing. This mist stings the eyes. Because of this we remain at risk of serious diseases. The government should consider this seriously.”
Sukhwinder Singh, another local resident, said, “There are a lot of problems, people are going out less and are mostly staying in their homes. Cases of cough and cold are increasing, people are gradually starting to fall ill. “Earlier there was no burning sensation in the eyes, but now gradually this problem has started.”
