Ajmer : Regular use of Satyarth Auditorium built at Rs 17 crore in Ajmer Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University will start soon. Chairs and carpet will be installed in it after four years. The university is preparing to issue its tender. A hi-tech Satyarth Auditorium with a capacity of 980 seats has been built on the land adjacent to the staff quarter. Its foundation stone was laid by former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on 14 August 2016. RSRDC initially started the construction with Rs 2 crore received from the National Higher Education Campaign. Its construction cost reached Rs 17 crore. Green room, porch, stage, balcony, lift and other constructions took place here. It had no use other than holding convocation ceremonies in 2023 and 2024.
The matter was stuck due to lack of coordination
Permanent chairs and carpet could not be installed in the auditorium worth Rs 17 crore even in four years. These are to be purchased from the government’s Gem portal. The matter remained stuck due to lack of coordination between RSRDC and the university. Recently a news was published with the title Auditorium worth Rs 17 crore, not earning Rs 1 in four years.
Sodani took information
Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Kailash Sodani took information about Satyarth Auditorium on the basis of news on Wednesday. He discussed with Registrar Priya Bhargava and Finance Controller Padmini Singh regarding chairs and carpets. The officials talked about starting the work on tender basis soon.
