Ajmer : Teachers of 874 schools of Ajmer district will no longer need to hide from local shopkeepers selling raw food items, nor will they face any problems in getting nutrition. The government has paid the outstanding amount of Rs 4 crore to the Education Department for three months from July to September. This amount will start being given to the respective schools from Friday. It is known that due to non-payment of nutrition amount, teachers were facing various problems. Schools were borrowing raw materials for nutrition from nearby shops, there are many schools whose borrowed amount reached Rs 2 lakh each. Shopkeepers are making rounds of schools, and teachers are forced to hide their faces from them. There were also problems in preparing nutritious food.

The situation reached this point – shopkeepers stopped giving loans.
The loan amount was increasing and the shopkeepers started interrupting. The situation reached such a stage that the shopkeepers even stopped giving loans to the nutrition in-charge and the principal. Most of those from whom the raw material of nutrition is purchased are small shopkeepers and their shops are running on daily cash sales. In such a situation, shopkeepers started refusing to give more loans due to increasing borrowings. Due to this, schools were facing various difficulties in providing nutrition.
Nutrition distribution in many schools stopped for last several days. Nutrition distribution had stopped in many schools of the district due to non-availability of loan of raw material for nutrition. This is the situation for the last several days. There was a continuous demand from Rajasthan Teachers Association (Radhakrishnan) and Shiksha Sena (Radhakrishnan) that the dues should be paid as soon as possible so that the distribution of nutrition could be smooth. Teachers unions had even warned of agitation regarding this. Those making the demand included District President Madan Singh, District Minister Raghuveer Singh, Secondary Education Chairman Avinash Sharma, Metropolitan Coordinator Mudita Gothwal and other officials.
