Ajmer : Traffic Police has started traffic lights at some intersections of Ajmer city but due to lack of proper direction indicators and standard lining, people are getting confused and stuck in traffic. The zebra line constructed at some intersections has been constructed incorrectly. Due to these shortcomings, there is a situation of confusion among the common people as well. On the route coming from Vaishali Nagar Makadwali Tiraha-Pushkar, late lane direction indicator is required for turning towards Makadwali Road along with the divider line. Which is always a green signal, but by mistake, people passing straight by staying in the late lane create a traffic jam behind them. Similarly, late lane should be left empty for those going from Ajmer city towards Pushkar. But here too, due to lack of divider, traffic jams occur.
Doing zebra and stop lining in a non-standard manner
The traffic police started traffic lights at about half a dozen intersections and intersections including Makadwali Tiraha, T Puliya (Anasagar Old Chowpatty) of the city. But due to lack of proper arrangements here, the common people are facing problems. Stop lines and zebra lines are still to be constructed at many intersections. The place where it has been built is far behind the intersection. This has created confusion among pedestrians. Due to lack of dividers and lining at intersections, routes have not been divided to allow traffic to move in the right direction. In such a situation, even after the green signal, the drivers remain stuck in the signal.

There is a long stop line drawn behind the zebra line. This means that when there is a red light, the driver has to stay behind it. But these days, drivers cross the zebra line at city intersections, leaving aside the stop line. However, challans are being made during monitoring by traffic police personnel and Abhay Command Centre.

Before installing zebra lines, stop lines and other direction indicators at the intersections of the city, technical aspects should also be paid attention to. The traffic police officer should be informed before construction. So that an officer and jawan can be appointed by the traffic police for lining the intersection.
