Ajmer : Ajmer The state government’s plan to promote night tourism has flopped in Ajmer. The proposal to open the Government Museum located at Naya Bazar for the general public and tourists at night has been approved. Lack of adequate security and staff is the biggest reason. Six years ago, during the tenure of the then Vasundhara Raje government, a plan was made to promote night tourism in the state. The Government Museum of Ajmer was also included in this. Its purpose was to introduce the general public and tourists to the buildings and materials of tourist and historical importance even at night. The Archeology and Museum Department had also changed its timing from 12 noon to 8 pm.
Continuous increase in deficit
In the year 2013, a light and sound show was started in the museum. In this, people were introduced to the life story and other incidents of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. Due to continuously increasing losses, lack of staff and resources, the Directorate closed it in the year 2018. Similarly, the laser light show in front of Maharana Pratap Memorial in Pushkar Valley has also stopped.
