Ajmer : Ajmer Smart City: If you want to go to the outskirts and peripheral areas of Ajmer, then your own means of transport has become a major necessity. There is no public transport facility in these areas. Auto rickshaw drivers operating from railway station-bus stand will refuse to go to these areas. Even if someone goes for the greed of higher fare, the sword of challan from the flying squad of the transport department and the police station hangs over him. Due to this, more than half a dozen religious and tourist places of Ajmer are being affected.
For the development of Smart City Ajmer, the scope of Ajmer Development Authority increased but public transport facility was not available. The Municipal Corporation is operating mini buses on selected routes under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Development Mission, but the passengers are dropped far away from the religious and tourist places located on these routes. In such a situation, the cheapest option available is auto rickshaw. But due to the requirement of permit from the transport department, auto rickshaw drivers hesitate to go. Sometimes if someone goes there, he has to face a challan.
Demand to increase the radius to 20 km: For the past many years, the issue has been raised by Ajmer Auto Rickshaw Union regarding increasing the scope of permits for their vehicles. On behalf of the union, the permit has been extended beyond the municipal limits by 20 km. Is being demanded. In which the religious and tourist places adjacent to the city and especially the important resting place for the pilgrims coming to the Dargah will also be covered.
Permit scope reduced: According to the information, earlier the permit issued to auto rickshaw drivers was in the Municipal Corporation-UIT area. Due to which movement was easy even in the peripheral area of the city, but after UIT was converted into ADA in the year 2014, the Transport Department also made changes and limited the auto permit to the Municipal Corporation limits, while the scope of ADA was increased from Ajmer city to Kishangarh, Nasirabad. , was extended to Mangliyawas and Pushkar.
